A day full of encounters: Guests at the reception for the Croatian National Day in Berlin
Sometimes it is special moments outside of everyday life that remind us of how valuable real encounters are. For example, we recently had the privilege of being guests at the festive reception on the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Croatia at the Hessian State Representation in Berlin – an event that was much more than an official event.
Celebrate Croatia – Experience Culture
The reception provided an impressive setting to experience Croatia in all its facets: cultural, musical, culinary and human. The Imotski wind orchestra gave the evening a powerful, heartwarming atmosphere. Traditional melodies filled the hall and brought a piece of Dalmatian homeland to the middle of Berlin.
At the same time, the kitchen showed what Croatian hospitality means: diversity, passion and authenticity. With delicious specialties – from classic delicacies to modern interpretations – the evening became a feast for the senses.
Encounters that last
What made this reception special, however, were the people. Entrepreneurs, cultural workers, diplomats, hosts – many personalities united by their love for Croatia and by the desire to build bridges.
In cordial conversations, new contacts, new ideas and valuable impulses were created. It was a togetherness that shows that diplomacy and culture do not only take place on official stages, but where people approach each other openly.
We say thank you for the lasting impressions, for inspiring dialogues and for the lived Croatian hospitality that carried the evening. It is such encounters that also accompany us in our daily work – because what unites us is always stronger than what divides us.

We would like to thank the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Gordan Bakota, for the invitation. His commitment to cultural exchange and the connection between Croatia and Germany was palpable throughout the evening.
The reception showed once again how valuable it is to strengthen cultural bridges – and how much an honest smile, a piece of music or a meal together can create connections.
A day that inspires
Our visit to Berlin was not only an honor, but also a reminder of why we do what we do: we want to get people excited about Croatia. For its culture, its hospitality, its beauty – and for unforgettable moments like the ones we were able to experience that day.
